पुलिस ने रविवार को युवा कांग्रेस के कुछ कार्यकर्ताओं के खिलाफ मामला दर्ज किया, जिन्होंने वध के लिए पशुओं की बिक्री पर केंद्र द्वारा रोक लगाये जाने के विरोध में सार्वजनिक रूप से कथित एक बछड़े का वध किया. मामला के प्रकाश में आने के बाद कांग्रेस उपाध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी ने घटना की निंदा की है. राहुल गांधी ने अपने ट्विटर वॉल पर लिखा कि बेतुका और अस्वीकार्य है. ऐसी घटना का मैं या मेरी पार्टी समर्थन नहीं कर सकते हैं. मैं इसकी कड़ी निंदा करता हूं.
घटना से असहज कांग्रेस ने इससे अपने को अलग कर लिया. कांग्रेस प्रवक्ता अभिषेक मनु सिंघवी ने दिल्ली में कहा कि यदि किसी ने कानून का उल्लंघन किया है, तो उससे कानून के अनुसार ही निबटा जाना चाहिए. कांग्रेस ने कभी कानून का उल्लंघन करनेवाले का समर्थन नहीं किया है. युवा मोर्चा के जिला महासचिव सीसी रतीश की शिकायत पर पुलिस ने युवा कांग्रेस कार्यकर्ता रिजिल मकुलती के खिलाफ मामला दर्ज किया. इस बीच, विपक्षी कांग्रेस नीत यूडीएफ ने प्रतिबंध के खिलाफ सोमवार को ‘काला दिवस’ मनायेगा.
