मोहाली नगर निगम विवाद ने तूल पकड़ लिया है। निगम के मेयर और पार्षदों ने जहां मंत्री नवजोत सिंह सिद्धू के खिलाफ निंदा प्रस्ताव पारित कर दिया है वहीं, सिद्धू ने बैकफुट पर दिखाई दे रहे हैं और उन्होंने विवाद का ठीका मीडिया पर फोड़ दिया है।
इधर, मेयर कुलवंत सिंह ने मंत्री सिद्धू के खिलाफ मानहानि का दावा भी करने का ऐलान कर दिया है। बीते दिन मंत्री सिद्धू द्वारा मोहाली के मेयर को हटाने के भेजे गए नोटिस के अगले ही दिन मोहाली नगर निगम की एक आपात बैठक हुई। इसमें मंत्री के खिलाफ गुस्सा निकाला गया। इस दौरान सिद्धू के खिलाफ निंदा प्रस्ताव भी पारित किया गया। इस तरह इस विवाद में सियासत तेज हो गई है।
मेयर कुलवंत सिंह ने कहा कि पहले सरकार ने उनको बर्खास्त करने के आदेश जारी किए फिर कारण बताओ नोटिस जारी कर दिया। एक ही मामले में एक साथ दो आदेश पर सरकार बैकफुट पर नजर आ रही है।
इसे प्रक्रिया में गलती तक बताकर विवाद से पीछा छुड़ाने की कोशिश की जा रही है। दूसरी ओर मंत्री नवजोत सिंह सिद्धू ने पूरे विवाद का ठीकरा मीडिया पर फोड़ते हुए मीडिया में छपी खबरों को गलत बताया।
