वैज्ञानिकों ने के कारण क्षतिग्रस्त होने वाले दिल के ऊतकों की मरम्मत का नया तरीका खोजा है। अमेरिकी वैज्ञानिकों ने 3डी बायो प्रिंटिंग की मदद से एक पैच तैयार किया है, जो ऊतकों की दरार भरने में सक्षम है। दरअसल, हार्ट अटैक के दौरान हृदय की मांसपेशियों तक खून का बहाव रुक जाता है। इस कारण कई कोशिकाएं मर जाती हैं। शरीर हृदय की उन कोशिकाओं की जगह दूसरी कोशिकाएं नहीं बना पाता। इसी कारण दिल के उस हिस्से में क्षतिग्रस्त ऊतक (टिश्यू) बन जाते हैं। ऐसे ऊतकों के कारण हार्ट फेल होने का खतरा बना रहता है।
अब वैज्ञानिकों ने लेजर आधारित 3डी बायो प्रिंटिंग की मदद से दिल से निकाली गई स्टेम कोशिकाओं का एक पैच (पैबंद) तैयार किया है। चूहे में प्रयोग के दौरान इसे दिल के क्षतिग्रस्त ऊतकों को ठीक करने में कारगर पाया गया। वैज्ञानिकों ने बताया कि इस पैच को दिल की ही कोशिकाओं से तैयार किया जाता है, इसलिए यह आसानी से बिना किसी सर्जरी के उसका हिस्सा बन जाता है। यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ मिनसोटा की सहायक प्रोफेसर ब्रेंडा ओगले ने कहा, ‘यह अमेरिका में असमय होने वाली मौतों की सबसे बड़ी वजह से निपटने की दिशा में बड़ा कदम हैं। उम्मीद है कि अगले कुछ वर्षो में हम मनुष्य में इस प्रक्रिया को सफलतापूर्वक आजमा सकेंगे।’ ओगले ने बताया कि उनकी टीम बड़ा पैच बनाने की दिशा में काम शुरू कर चुकी है। इसे सुअर पर आजमाया जाएगा।
